Mandarin Spaced Repetition Deck

A flash card app I built to turn my weekly Mandarin lessons into a personal study deck, fast.

Front of a card showing the Chinese characters and pinyin for 'you'
Front: characters and pinyin, with a button to hear it spoken.
Back of the card showing 'you' and the four rating buttons
Back: rate how well you knew it, and the app schedules the next review.

Why I built it

Most flash card apps make it hard to add new words, or just aren't easy to use. I wanted to take the words straight from my weekly lessons and drop them into my own deck in minutes, then let the app decide what I need to review and when.

Now I add each week's new words in under 10 minutes. My deck has grown past 500 words, and I've saved hours I used to spend searching for them.

How it works

After each card, I rate it Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. Words I know well come back less often, and words I miss come back sooner. That's spaced repetition, the same idea behind apps like Anki.

It's a single web page, so there's nothing to install and no account. Progress stays in each person's own browser, and a backup file moves it between devices.
